In the Money: Buying a House - Part II

Buying a house can be stressful especially when it comes to saving money for a down payment, closing costs and etc. However, I believe I found a hack for that through a program called Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA).

NACA is a non-profit, community advocacy and homeownership organization. NACA’s primary goal is to build strong, healthy neighborhoods in urban and rural areas nationwide through affordable homeownership.

NACA allows their members to purchase their homes with:

  • No down payment

  • No closing costs

  • No fees

  • No requirement for perfect credit

  • And at a below-market interest rate

If you are ready to purchase a home NACA allows you to go through two routes (1) attend a NACA homebuyer virtual workshop or (2) attend an Achieve the Dream (ATD) event. The difference between these two routes is that the ATD event expedites steps 1-3 in a matter of a day.

There are about six steps that will get you to the end goal of being a homeowner those are the following:

  1. Attend a NACA homebuyer virtual workshop.

  2. Prepare your web-file for your first appointment with a NACA counselor.

  3. Fulfill qualification requirements for the NACA mortgage.

  4. Attend a NACA purchase workshop and find a home.

  5. Complete your credit access and submit the bank application.

  6. Obtain lender approval and closing on your home.

Are you ready to become a homeowner? If so, check out the NACA program!
